Busted Knuckles Auctions is proud to present this 1928 Chevrolet Capitol Express One Ton Truck.  This unique and rare example has received a full list of updates from the current selling dealer.  This Pickup has the original 171 Cubic Inch Motor and manual 3-speed on the floor transmission.

Introduced in 1927 in both car and truck versions, the Capitol was far more advanced than the Ford Model T. Competition from GM is what led Ford to cease production of the Model T and introduce the all-new Model A in 1928 to compete. Chevrolet took full advantage of Ford’s production gap in while retooling for the Model A. In 1927, Chevrolet was the best-selling vehicle in America for the first time.

The dealer purchased this truck from a gentleman that purchased it from a 1986 auction in Nags Head NC. Included in the sale are the purchase ticket and other documents from the previous owner. The previous owner states it had recently been restored and that he used it in a Richmond Christmas Parade in the late 80’s. After its recent aquisition from the seller the fuel tank was pulled and replaced. Other items include refinished wooden spokes, refinished wooden bed, refinished wooden headliner and floorboard. The seller also states the Motor was redone including an entire tune. Brand New Tubes & Firestone Tires are on the truck even though not shown in pics.

The seller states the motor is the original 171 cubic inch 4 cylinder. The exterior of this truck is finished in Dark Green with stained wood accents.  The interior is finished in Black with matching green from the exterior and period correct steering wheel and gauges.
