Busted Knuckles Auctions is proud to present this 1966 Ford Mustang 289 Coupe. This Mustang has received an extensive refurbishment and the seller states it is an excellent condition running and driving example.
This Mustang started as a C code 289 two barrel with a Cruise-O-Matic auto transmission. The numbers matching block was completely rebuilt with aluminum heads and intake, new Holley carb, upgraded cam and lifters, new ignition with an MSD coil, aluminum water pump, and radiator. Aftermarket air conditioning has been added on blows cold. The car also has a new battery, new tires, new master cylinder, and new vacuum booster. The transmission shifts as it should. The suspension is tight and the brakes work well with discs up front and drums in the rear. The Mustang is also equipped with power steering.
The Seller states the paint and bodywork are great with good panel gaps plus the doors, hood, and trunk open and close well with no sagging or misalignment. Other options include sequential brake lights and halogen headlights. The seller states the new dual exhaust sounds sweet and mellow but will bark when you put the spurs to her. This car is also equipped with the desirable through the valance exhaust trumpets.
The interior is a combination of saddle tan on the seats and door cards with black carpeting with a maroon dash and trim. The seller states the interior is in excellent condition with no tears or fading. Also stated are no sags in the headliner, no cracks in the dash, and no cracks in the steering wheel. Auto Meter Rally Pac style gauges line the column. The balance of the factory gauges are fully operational including 140mph speedometer, fuel, amps, oil pressure, and water temp. The interior lighting works and all the windows are functional. The car also has the optional center console with shifter.
