Presenting this absolutely beautiful 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II.  The Continental’s power comes from a 368 cubic-inch Y-block V8.  With a $9,960-$10,780 price tag, the Mark II was the most expensive domestic-produced automobile sold in the United States. In place of style or outright performance, to justify its exclusive price, Ford Motor Company sought to market the Continental model line as the highest-quality American automobile.

The Continental Division of Ford Motor Company was William Clay Ford’s idea to honor his late father, Edsel Ford, who was the father of the first Lincoln Continental in 1939. The MKII was a hand-built automobile with A/C that sold for $10,780, the most expensive car at the time (late1955.)

The exterior of this example is finished in Deep Red with a two tone red and white interior. Imported Bridge of Weir Scottish Leather was used through out the interior with Wilton Wood Carpeting.

The 368 cubic inch V8 produced 300 horsepower. Each engine was balanced and factory blue-printed. The seller states this Continental has 63,784 original miles.
